Justine Bakker

Set Dresser

Justine started her career in 1995 as an intern at Jelier & Schaaf on the feature film De Jurk. Not long after, she worked as a researcher and assistant production designer on the Academy Award–winning film Karakter. A strong start, with the right people, at the right time.

She spent many years working on large-scale fiction films before finding her true passion in on-set dressing (stand-by props) the place where all elements come together and details make or break the image. The finishing touch. Today, commercials are her main playground, with the occasional crossover into fiction, photography, and event styling projects.

Justine knows the rhythm of a set and thrives in its controlled chaos. She’s hands-on, fast, and solution-driven, bringing a solid set of skills and tools and a sharp eye for what works on camera. She loves giving each set its own character and knows that the smallest details often make the biggest difference.

What really fuels her work is collaboration on set—thinking, adjusting, and problem-solving together with the production designer, director, and camera department. Clear communication, trust, and a positive mindset go a long way, and Justine firmly believes the best images are made when everyone pulls in the same direction.
